Combined Interview with Eden Bradley AND Ever from Eversong, Hot Excerpt & Giveaway

Please welcome Eden Bradley and character Ever from Eversong to TFB.

Please tell us a little about your background.

I write erotica and erotic romance as both Eden Bradley and Eve Berlin. My work tends to be a bit dark and edgy, whether I'm writing contemporary or paranormal. I've had over 30 books published, both print and e-books, but the thrill of a new release never gets old. And I love that there's always a new character whose story must be told.

How would you describe yourself using five words only?

Eden: Ever is a gentleman, so he’s allowing me to go first. Here’s my five words: neurotic, creative, girly, smutty, open-minded.

Ever: Only five? I’ve lived for centuries…five seems such a strict limit, but I shall try: savage, sensual, ancient, world-weary, commanding.

Eden: I’d say bossy as much as commanding.

Ever: Alas, it’s true. But I am the head of the Midnight Playground in London. I’m used to being the boss. And you like it.

Eden: I do!

Please share some juicy details about EVERSONG, book four of the Midnight Playground series.

Eden: My vampires are a dirty bunch, so there’s a LOT of kink in these books. I’m not sure how ‘juicy’ we can get, so maybe I’d better shut up now…?

Ever: How sweet, my sweet—you’re concerned for my reputation.

Eden: Oh, your reputation was obliterated centuries ago.

Ever: True. *wicked, self-satisfied grin*

What was your inspiration behind EVERSONG?

Eden: I’ve always loved vampires-they’re such fascinating creatures! Ever has definitely been my muse for much of this series. He knows I fell in love with him the moment he first came into my head.
Ever: I do know. There’s very little I don’t know about you. For instance, there was that incident in Las Vegas—

Eden: Hey! Can we stay on topic here please? As I was saying, I’ve always loved vampires, and one of my favorite vampire movies is THE HUNGER with David Bowie and Katherine Deneuve. There’s something about the combination of rawness and beauty in that film that’s always stuck with me, so that’s probably had something to do with it. Anne Rice’s vampires, too. I love how sensual they are. In the end, though, there are a lot of influences that have sort of come together in my head to create my vampires—all of the legends and mythos in books and film, with my own twists, the things that interest me, including the social breakdown which resulted in the Midnight Playground clubs coming into being. I’m very interested in sociology and cultural anthropology, which played a big part in my world-building.

Was there a character you enjoyed writing the most?

Eden: Ever is my favorite, which he knows very well. Not that I don’t adore all of my vampires. Of course, I love Aleron, too-he was one of the first of my vampires. And I really loved writing Mercy, my heroine in EVERSONG. It was a very different experience writing a female vampire, and one who had gone through the transformation so recently. It made her perception of immortality unique.

Can you tell readers a little bit about the world building in the book/series? Were there challenges or obstacles you had to overcome?

Eden: The world-building itself has been challenging. The story is set in a near-future London, so I really had to think about why the social structure had collapsed, to make it believable that such a thing could happen a mere thirty years from now.

The paranormal aspect itself was a challenge. It’s not something I’d done a lot of prior to this series, although having written the Wasteland continuity series with my fellow Smutketeers, (at that time, authors R.G. Alexander, Crystal Jordan and Lilli Feisty), helped so much. R.G. and Crystal are experts at world-building, and I learned so much from them.

I set out to create a world in which vampires were a visible, accepted part of society, which got me to ask myself how that might have come about. In this case, the answer was an economic collapse that took down governments all over Europe, making for a time of great chaos which allowed the vampires to step out of the shadows.

I knew from a visit to London how grand the architecture is there, and wanted to make use of that, which is how the Midnight Playground club came to be set in the beautiful old Palace Theater—and the size of the place made sense for a club which needed to house a dance floor, a bar, a dungeon, a set of rooms for the owners. And all of it had to be utterly luxurious, so the marble-paneled walls and the grand façade of the theater made a perfect setting.

After that I had to decide what my ‘rules’ were for the vampires. For instance, my vampires never sleep, they can go out in the daylight, they breathe and can therefore be killed, so immortality is only a possibility for them, rather than an absolute. And when I created them, I knew they had to be creatures of voracious sexual appetites.

Ever: Eden only thinks she created our world, but it was me whispering into her ear the whole time.

Eden: I don’t think that was what you were whispering to me, my dirty vampire.

Ever: Ah, perhaps not…

We rarely talk about villains of books during interviews. Share with us who or what is the antagonist of your story.

Eden: I rarely write villains, but there is a villain in EVERSONG. Gaius is a rogue vampire who has kidnapped Mercy from her family home in Barcelona and Turned her against her will, then abandoned her. In the few days he had her he was often cruel. Later, when Mercy has been brought to the London Midnight Playground for protection, the Vampire Council is hunting him, and we see a bit of where he came from. Gaius is a mysterious figure, and I can’t say more or it might spoil the story.

Ever: Gaius—a more evil creature has never existed, that foul demon who dared to hurt Mercy!

Eden: Calm down, Ever—you know he will be dealt with.

Ever: Damn right he will be!

How do you get yourself in the right frame of mind to write those blush=worthy, heart-pumping sex scenes?

Eden: This is terribly un-sexy, but I just sit down and write. I have too many writing commitments to wait for the muse. My only motivator is chocolate, but that goes for anything I’m writing. I have found, though, that once I start writing a sex scene it sort of takes on a life of its own, and I just follow where my characters lead me.

Ever: I love the submissive side of you.

Eden: Oh, hush!

Ever: Someone’s getting bossy. I shall have to deal with that later. In private.

Paranormal creatures can often lend to some sexy primitive lovin'. Do you agree with this statement? Can you give us an example from your book?

Ever: As I mentioned, we are extremists. Sex between vampires can be incredibly savage—we are primal creatures at heart. Our desires run high, sometimes to an uncontrollable degree, which can make sex with us dangerous for humans. But perhaps that’s part of the appeal?

Eden: I’m sure it is! Let’s take a peek:

“Deo. Mercy.”

Ever moved into the room, drawn to their twined, naked bodies on the big bed. They looked like some exquisite piece of art to him. A Canova sculpture. Just as lovely, with their sleek immortal skin. That divine contrast of light and dark. Except that they were all light, these two. As fresh and sweet as any mortal he’d ever come upon.

That was their magic. He’d been thinking about it all day. The fact that they were vampires yet had come to it without the hard edge most humans had when they decided to let go of their mortal lives. When they came to the Midnight Playground, yearning for the Turning Kiss, willing to do anything to be offered immortality. That innocent magic had awakened his senses—senses that had been deadening bit by bit these last months.

“Ever?” Mercy’s voice, as soft as she was.

“I am here.”

“Will you come to us?” Deo asked.

He could hear the desire in the young vampire’s tone, felt his cock harden simply knowing they wanted him.

He crossed the room, shedding his clothes. Naked, he stood over them, watching them. Mercy licked her full lower lip and his balls pulled tight.

“You are almost too lovely to bear,” he told them.

It was true. Mercy’s body was petite but with lush curves, her hips and breasts full. The ultimate in femininity. Her strawberry hair lay in long waves on the pillows, a lock draped over Deo’s arm around her narrow waist. Even the line of her back was exquisite as she lay in Deo’s arms. And her face…the delicate jaw, the plush pink mouth almost pornographic in her innocent face. Her eyes the lightest, glossy blue…

“Ever?” she asked again.

“I am only admiring you, little beauty,” he answered. “In all my centuries, with all I’ve seen, I almost cannot believe you are real. You’re like a fairy. Like the Ljósálf, the light elves, I knew of in my youth.”

“I’m real, Ever. Come to us. Find out how real I am. How real we can be together. Please.”

“Ah…”

He moved in, leaned over them, and Deo drew him down with a strong hand, until Ever lay between them on the bed. Mercy pressed against his chest, her breasts a symphony of silken flesh. Except for her hard nipples. His cock filled.

Behind him, Deo was all sleek planes—muscle and flesh and a sprinkling of hair on his chest and belly. And below that, his cock pressing against him, thick and hard. Deo’s arm went around Ever, and Ever joined hands with him, their fingers lacing. Together, they stroked Mercy’s body, making her squirm, making her sigh with pleasure. He brushed her mouth with his, and her lips were so damn sweet, he could hardly stand it.

*Must be inside her.*

Mercy arched her hips, and he felt the hot press of her pussy against his cock. Her panting breath against his face.

*Now.*

“Open for me,” he commanded.

Mercy slid one leg over his hips, and with one quick thrust, he was inside her.

“Ah, you feel like heaven, little beauty. I am going to fuck you so hard.”

“Yes, Ever,” she gasped, her hot sheath tightening around him.

“And you will fuck me, Deo. Fuck my ass. Do it now.”

Deo shifted, his thick cock pressing, searching, until it finally slid between his ass cheeks. Ever let his body still, opened for Deo, who slipped the head of his cock inside him. There was that momentary burn, then Deo buried his cock deep.

“Ah, perfect,” Ever muttered as pleasure shimmered through him.

As Mercy lifted her chin, pressing her mouth hungrily to his, they all began to move. He arched his hips, surging into her hot sex. Deo drove his cock deeper into Ever’s ass. Pleasure was a fiery heat in his ass, his cock, his mouth. Mercy ground her hips into his, her sweet pussy like heated velvet, sleek and wet. Deo’s cock was ramming into him now, over and over. Sensation shafted into his body as Deo bit into the back of his neck.

“Ah, yes,” Ever whispered as the images flooded his mind.

Deo on a beach with two others, beautiful young men, like him. He could smell the ocean. Could smell the scent of male come. Could taste it in Deo’s mouth as one of the men pushed his cock between his lips. The other man had Deo on his hands and knees as he pushed into his ass. Everything merged—reality and memory—sensations coming from every direction.

The image changed, and it was Deo with Mercy, the two of them fucking against an old plaster wall. The animal lust of the immortals making their fucking a primal thing as pleasure devoured them both.

That same primal pleasure ran through him in a long shiver, like a serpent in his veins. His hips slammed into Mercy, his cock plunging deep into her hot pussy. Deo’s cock was ramming into his ass, pushing sensation deeper, deeper.

Mercy came first, her cries echoing in the room, her pulsing sex gripping his cock.

“God, Ever! Yes, harder.”

Her orgasm drove his own pleasure on, higher, higher. Deo was fucking him so hard, so deep, his cock pounding into him, if Ever had been mortal he would have been torn apart.

“Harder, Deo,” he urged, needing the pain. Needing to feel as deeply as possible--to feel *something*. “Harder!”

Other than writing, what are some of your passions in life?

Eden: I have several. I’m a huge art geek, and art shows up in a lot of my books, in some form or another. I’m passionate about my cats—it’s ridiculous how much I love them. I’m also a well-known shoe whore-lol! Anyone who follows me on Facebook has seen my ‘shoe of the day’ posts. I have a great love affair with the highest stilettos, which is silly, given that I spend every day in front of my computer in my fuzzy slippers. I also love tattoos. I have several myself, and love them on a man! Or on a vampire…
