SHAMEFUL DESIRES 1:
ENSLAVED
By P.J. Proud
Publisher: Fanny Press
Format: eBook; 81,904 words
Release Date: April 4, 2011

Jeremy Piper has idolized Andre Jackson for years, and now Andre is acting in Jeremy's movie. But the fledgling screenwriter is quickly disillusioned with the flesh-and-blood actor, who strikes him as rude and narcissistic. When the talk turns to bondage scenes, Andre throws down the gauntlet, swearing he can break Jeremy's will with erotic spanking. Jeremy refuses to submit and the chase is on, with a determined Andre bent on bringing Jeremy to heel. With his life spiraling out of control, Jeremy can no longer resist Andre's challenge. The scene that follows changes them both, revealing Jeremy's deep-seated desire to submit and Andre's equally strong need to dominate. Submersed in subspace, Jeremy begs Andre to make love to him, to own him, and Andre can't refuse his willing, handsome slave. Thus begins their romance. Events and their own proud natures will conspire to tear them apart. Andre has a fiancée, Jeremy a wife. Will they ever come to terms with their shameful desires?

Man on man, spanking, BDSM, hot sex. Mix it all together and you have Shameful Desires 1: Enslaved. I like reading erotica with m/m. I like a little spanking. And I’ve also enjoyed my brief forays into reading stories with BDSM. This book took all three to the extreme.
The main character is Jeremy. A nurse slash author turned screenwriter. He has an obsession with a famous actor, Andre. Jeremy writes a book that turns into a movie and Andre is the star. Oh, and Jeremy is in a loveless marriage. Jeremy doesn’t want to admit he is in love with Andre - he doesn’t think he’s gay, but Andre challenges Jeremy and he ends up submitting to Andre.
This book is written in the present tense, which was confusing at first, but then moves the story along quickly, as it seems as though someone is telling the story. It ended up working for me. The language is strong, very very strong, and the sex is graphic. I’ve read a few books with some spanking and some BDSM, but this book almost focused on that aspect of the men’s relationship. Jeremy needed to be spanked. He needed to be broken. It was the only way he could really stay balanced in his everyday life. This concept was completely new to me, and a little shocking at first. He needed to be spanked, almost beaten, until he grayed out and went into “subspace” as it was called in the book. Andre used his hands, paddles, a wooden spoon, a belt, a cane, whips, a hairbrush, and many other instruments to “punish” Jeremy. Not only did Jeremy need his daily spanking, but the men maintained the Master/slave relationship outside of the bedroom, as well - this also was new to me.
I didn’t get to a place where I really liked Jeremy. He acted like a spoiled brat most of the book, and was defiant and petulant. I don’t really understand the need to be “broken” in order to feel whole, but I’m not saying it’s not valid. I also didn’t like the violent nature of the men’s relationship - their fights often came to blows, and I just don’t like the idea of punching someone you love.
Even though it’s long, this book is a quick read. The sex is hot, hot, hot, and even the spanking was a turn-on. Some of the events in the plot were a little to cliched for me, but it worked. Also, the violence was a little much for me, as was Jeremy’s attitude. Overall, I’d give the book a 2.5 out of 5. The heat factor is off the charts, however - 5 out of 5.
