Peering into Emily and Rasul’s life from the outside paints an unlikely picture—the sweet, deferring Southern bride and her cold, self-possessed, ex-military husband. Peer into their bedroom and the scene grows starker still. Domineering man, submissive girl, a sex life not for the faint of heart. But peer inside their heads? That’s another matter entirely.

Obsessive, traditional and controlling, Rasul never planned on marrying an American woman, let alone a kinky one. A dark past has left Emily with unusual appetites, ones Rasul has come to embrace—a small price to pay to indulge his sexual power trip, the thrill of being the one who makes her every desire real.

But bringing another man into their bedroom? For most husbands, that’s a kink too far. For Rasul, it’s yet another sin he never dreamed he’d commit before he met his wife…and an invitation to spoil her rotten too good to pass up.

Cara McKenna delivers another sexy and smart story with Don't Call Her Angel, adding her own unique voice to the m/f/m menage genre.

Rasul and Emily have been married a couple of years, and they've recently moved into a new home in Reston, Virginia.  From an outsider's viewpoint, they might seem like an odd match.  Rasul grew up in the Middle East near Jerusalem where he was in the army for a decade.  His strict traditional upbringing has made him stern, obsessive-compulsive and very controlling - the perfect qualities for an interrogator for the federal government.  But a kind, loving husband?  Absolutely.

Rasul treasures his wife Emily above all else and would do anything to please her.  Emily is a sweet and friendly woman, raised in a small Southern town.  She works part-time as a bartender and has plans to one day become a nurse.  Underneath her sweet exterior, she hides her kinky side - to be dominated (roughly is good!) in the bedroom.  But, her ultimate fantasy is to have another man join her and Rasul in bed.  Not wanting to deny his wife anything, Rasul agrees to allow Emily's friend Jeremy to join them on one condition - as always, he's the one in charge.

I enjoyed this book for many reasons, and the top one is Rasul.  Just, wow.  He hit all the right buttons for me: sexy, protective, domineering, and deeply in love with his wife.  He was an intense and complex character, and his flaws only added to his appeal.  I love how the menage experience helped him to realize why he was OCD about certain things in his life.  Who knew a man barking commands in Arabic in bed would be so hot?  Ms. McKenna is very good at lengthening my list of fantasies. ;)

The chemistry between the three main characters made this story work and feel very real.  Rasul the Alpha, Emily the kinky submissive, and Jeremy the (happy to be) beta male, content with being their toy for the evening.  Don't Call Her Angel went deeper than just kinky menage sex.  The emotional depth of the characters made it a gripping story.  I was so invested in them, wondering how the experience would affect them and how their story would end.

Cara McKenna is a very talented writer of erotica, definitely one of my favorites.  I would highly recommend Don't Call Her Angel, especially if you love D/s or menage themes.  FYI: This story is m/f/m, with no sexual m/m contact.

Story Rating: 4.5 out of 5
